Sai Kung Handover holiday run Hares - Lost in Translation, Hopeless Runners - Minja Turtle, Crème Brûlée, O'Bollocks, Dave Ramsbottom, One Foot In The Grave, Lost In Space, Gay Gunner, Edeline Bermido, Em Lowing, Cherry Poppins, Pole Dancer, Indyanus, Shorthorn, Gweilo Gone Wrong, Timbits, Nose Vibrator, Tight Lips, Sparkling Whiner, Screwtop, Telecum, leon, Spinky McHu, Brother Anus, Park'n'Shop, Burning Lust, Smallbone, Amah Moron, Parky, Anal Invitation, Whore's Drawers, Free Wheel, Any Dick'll Do, Crackpot, Gonna, Rooted, Mother Teresa, Verlie, Java Jugs The hare warned everyone that the public transport to Sai Kung was likely to be busy... no one wanted to be in town just in case there was any protests. However, the mini bus from Hang Hau had no queue - maybe the hot day had encouraged everyone to go to the beach instead - and I arrived in Sai Kung with plenty of time to get water, a haircut and wander into A at 2.45. There was quite a crowd already, vigorously applying more sun tan lotion while the hare, looking very hot, drank a seemingly endless supply of soft drinks in an effort to get his body temperature back to normal after setting. At 3 sharp we were off, following instructions to run along the water front, past the two piers and on past the golf club car park. The water front was busy and I soon lost sight of the front runners dodging between people waiting for ice creams or catching a boat to go fishing. Suddenly the pack were coming back towards me... check back... and we were up past the sports ground, right at the check and following the chalk message to "run thru car park". Off right into Sha Kok Mei village with a particularly tricky check that bought the whole pack together again very effectively. Then, almost doubling back on ourselves to another check that "seemed to go the wrong way" before making our way through the other side of the village. There we were met by LIT (who although hare was running with a friend and virgin hasher), "on up left" she was shouting although running straight up the road... so off left we all went, through the graveyard in a loop and back onto the main road with LIT nowhere in sight, me ripping my shorts on the brambles, Freewheeler taking a hash crash into a grave stone and Dave (?) getting a hash name, "One Foot in the Grave" for stumbling through the graves with a certain lack of finesse. The pack goes up to Nam Shan with heat bearing down on us and Ma On Shan looming up ahead somewhere… but the hare has a little bit of experience and we turn back through the village and start the journey back, through another village - stopping to take in the sights of the bay from the roadside - then down to the main road, across the bridge and through the back stair case of the old shopping centre. From there an already marked check back led us winding down through the back streets of Sai Kung, or "real HK" and down the back steps into the park. There the waiting hare fed us beer and softies while we all tried to cool down. "35 degrees, feels like 45". Awesome run (not too long, not too much elevation) on a super hot Handover Day. Down Downs by Indy The hares - Hopeless / Lost In Translation.... 'Most awesomest Handover 2020 trail!!'....... and who yelled that the loudest???? Hopeless / LIT - well thought out with location and timing for such an extremely bl**dy hot day!! LIT - going out a second time to mark the trail for.... errrrrr..... not the FRB's......... Ex - Singapore hashers (or those who hashed there) - Hopeless / Smallbone / Anal I / Indy / Steve... know well that in Spore for every run one of the hares goes back out to 'sweep' to ensure back of the pack don't F*ck up! Well done LIT... Virgin LSW hasher - Gay Gunner been hashing for 2 months in HK Gay Gunner - obviously not gay! thinks hashing is an opportunity for 'flirting' with G/f... GG with g/f - on trail seen pinching her bum and then later she was jumping off concrete block into his arms..... 'this is the hash???' LIT to GG - GG goes to LIT to sign up for the hash.... 'And what is your g/f's name?'... 'errrrrrrr??? name??? what?'....... More LSW virgins! - Welcome the pilots..... Steve Quilkey ex spore hasher / Dave Ramsbottom ... Dave Ramsbottom to self! - Yes... when he says 'This is your captain speaking'...... very quickly mumbles his name and introduces the First Officer........ (bursts of laughter from the crowd!) When 1 pilot drinks - Dave / Steve / Shorthorn / Noname (yet) Dave..... LIT / Hopeless - very clever loop into shrub and graveyards and back onto same path again 50 metres further on.... Spinky McHu / Indy - intelligent hashing! 'Caught up' at that stage to see pack coming out of trees and no need to do the loop.... Hopeless / LIT - Handover Day run... did they deliberately go on that path knowing that a China flag was flying high outside a village house near to trail? Hopeless - deliberately checked before hand with yours truly Indy that she would be doing the Down Downs at the run!...... Ulterior motive.... with new Security Law hopes she contravenes and yeehah! ...Imprisonment! Hopeless to Indy - Truth is that at 11 pm on previous night when SL was announced Lost At Sea contacted Hopeless to ensure Indy would be doing the DDs........ Spinky McHu.... our SL rep....... Where is all the Colonial Gear?? Hopeless.... his Colonial Polo playing shirt? When did you play polo? Screwtop... with her 'handbag'!
