My source is well qualified as Fetish is part of her name and of course the answer is….. A Little Sai Wan Easter egg hunt hared by Screwtop. So lets get started. Briefing includes the hunt for Easter eggs made of orange paper with LSW imprinted on them. Two splits with the 2nd split having no extra distance or elevation, just a tougher trail. 5-6K for W and -yikes- 10K for R. So off we go across the flyover, down Tong Bin Lane and up to the first check. I’m not quite sure the sequence of events but the pack being well together had trouble solving the check. This necessitates a call to the hare who helps us and reveals that there is little to no markings….Huh? It’s a long shiggy uphill and then very clever of the hare we go east instead of doing the reservoirs. So long contour path where I find myself “all by myself” with the only thing to look forward to is my 15 second conversation with Gobi Lo as she zooms past me. The first R is the distance one and the second R starts out not bad and lulls me into thinking it won’t be to bad. But it kind of progressively gets worse and -oh yeah- this is the bit that’s not marked. Smart hare! It’s kind of obvious and there is ribbons but then it gets less obvious and I make a wrong turn and oh oh. After a bit of head scratching it turns out I was only about 20 yards form the nice staircase leading back down to the road. Whew!! Almost home and what? A CB? Oh no. But true trail is across the street and I am on in just as the pack is going to the newly renovated Thai place for a fantastic On-On. And Gobi Lo, she did the W so I never got my 15 second conversation…. Thank you hare, it was wonderful, couldn’t ask for anything more and now on to Indy for the Down-Downs after I thank Pipe Rider for allowing me to use her shoe wrapping paper to take DD notes on!!
