That having been said our non-RA smiled very nicely on today’s holiday run with gorgeous weather as opposed to our last holiday run where it poured down rain on the hapless Castrato. And speaking of gorgeous our hares for the day are Freebee and Screwtop. Location was appropriate for the Buddha’s Birthday run set in the park across the street from the Man Ho Temple. A nice turn out and some visitors from lesser hashes to join us on this holiday. Not to sound cliche but as we set out the first checks and check backs really did keep the pack closely together as our clever hares thoroughly out smarted the frustrated front runners. Remember if the trail “obviously” goes a certain way, it probably doesn’t. Best CB goes to the one on the Lung Fu Shan Morning Trail that took us back to Po Shan Road via an unseen sneaky trail that took a bit of time to figure out. Along Po Shan Road to the trail at the end. Just did this trail a week and a half prior on Wanchai so knew to ignore the R signs as today there is no split. This trail parallels Conduit Road and keeps things interesting by having to negotiate all the fencing to keep rocks from falling on to the posh mid levels. The trail spits you out onto Tregunter Path - thank you Google Maps - and Old Peak Road. From there it is a city run via the escalators, I mean stairs and Hollywood Road back to A. For those keeping score the trail was a perfect 6.2km with 182 meters of elevation change. On-On to a nice dim-sum bash where we were all humorously educated by the learned Octo on the true meaning of “Castrato” and then given a demonstration by the man? himself as he soloed the LSW song. Thanks everyone for a great day out and I’ll turn it over to Octo and Indy for the DDs with Castrato as the DD secretary.
